The most useful message we get is someone telling us a figure on a page is wrong. If you have one of those, please send it — name the page and the figure, and we will check it against the issuing body.

Where you are right, we correct the page and re-date it. We do not quietly edit a page to look as though the error was never there, which is the standard set out in our editorial policy.

What else to write in about

• A product we should assess. Particularly an enclosure whose manufacturer publishes its floor area and bar spacing, because those are the ones we can assess properly.
• A product whose specification has changed. Manufacturers do revise dimensions and bar spacing between production runs, and that is exactly the kind of change that makes an old recommendation wrong.
• A discontinued product we are still recommending. A recommendation you cannot buy is not a recommendation.
• A housing question we have not answered anywhere on the site. We cannot give individual advice on a specific animal's health — that is a vet's job and we are not one — but a gap in the guidance is worth knowing about.

What we cannot help with

Anything clinical. We are not veterinarians and nobody on this site is, so a question about a sick animal needs a vet rather than us. If an animal is unwell, please do not wait for an email reply from a website.
